About

Deborah Allen is a classical education expert dedicated to vocational discernment rooted in an integrated, whole-person model (cura personalis). Her work centers on helping students cultivate a deep understanding of who they are and how they are called to live—forming life-long learners who are prepared for their next step and oriented toward lives of purpose, meaning, and service.

Deborah brings a breadth of experience across diverse educational settings. She has founded two successful college advising departments in both private and public schools and has served as a community college instructor, humanities teacher, senior thesis advisor, university academic and career counselor, and scholarship reader for multiple organizations. Her work bridges the liberal arts, vocational reflection, and practical decision-making, helping students and families navigate post secondary plans with wisdom and intentionality.

A commitment to the pursuit of wisdom and a love of learning has shaped Deborah’s own educational journey. She holds a B.A. in Communication from the University of Florida, a master’s degree in Humanities from California State University, and a certification in Human Resource Development from the University of Georgia. Her postgraduate studies include work at the University of Dallas, participation in the Dallas Institute of Humanities and Culture, and the Sure Rose Summer Institute, as well as the College of William & Mary through the Virginia Tidewater Consortium of Higher Education’s Summer Institute on College Teaching.

Outside her professional work, Deborah is actively engaged in environmental stewardship, volunteering as both a Master Gardener and a Master Watershed Steward for the South River Watershed.
